Privacy Policy

Will It Be Bright? is a sunlight analysis tool for home buyers. This policy covers both the website (willitbebright.com) and the Chrome extension.

What we collect

Only what the product needs:

Property addresses you look up are sent to OpenStreetMap (geocoding) and the Overpass API (building data) to calculate sunlight scores. We don't store these addresses on any server.
Cached results are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This never leaves your device.
Your extension license key is stored locally in Chrome and sent to willitbebright.com only to confirm that it is valid.
Purchase records include your email address, Paddle customer and transaction IDs, license status, and email delivery status. We use them to deliver and restore paid access.

We do not store card details, passwords, precise device location, or your Zillow and Redfin browsing history.

Third-party services

OpenStreetMap Nominatim — geocodes addresses into coordinates. Their privacy policy.
Overpass API — retrieves building footprint data near the property.
Paddle — handles secure checkout, tax, receipts, and payment details. Paddle's privacy policy.
Supabase — stores license and purchase fulfillment records for Will It Be Bright?
SendGrid — receives your email address and license key to deliver your purchase email.
Google AdSense — serves ads on the website (not the extension). Google may use cookies for ad personalization. Google's privacy policy.

Cookies

The website uses cookies only through Google AdSense. The Chrome extension does not use cookies.

Data sharing

We don't sell your data. Property addresses go to OpenStreetMap and Overpass solely to calculate sunlight scores. Purchase data goes to Paddle and our license database to take payment, prevent fraud, and restore access. Your email address and license key go to SendGrid to deliver your purchase email.

Children's privacy

This service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. That's it.
